Eowyn’s best friend, play mate and protector: Ottis is such a loving, playful guy and absolutely adores his Eowyn. These two are always playing together, snuggling inside their hut, or sitting in the corner of their pasture staring at the humans together as if to ask “Where’s our dinner??” Ottis loves to be snuggled and shown affection when you visit him. As long as Phil or Lauren are present so he can see you are not a threat to his best friend, he will lean against you to show how much he loves being pet. We adopted Ottis when he was 5 years old from a rescue called Camp Wag. They are located in TN and specialize in large breed dog rescue. Ottis and his brother were shot by their neighbor. His brother did not survive and Ottis has shrapnel in his front shoulder. As a result of this trauma, Ottis has a flight response to loud noises but this is something Eowyn has helped him with. He used to want to flee and pasture and take off, but now he seeks those familiar to him for comfort. He will run to Eowyn, Lauren, or Phil if he hears thunder for instance. Seeing Eowyn and Ottis heal together has been remarkable to watch.
