You may hear Archie before you see him. He is our vocal sheepy boy. Rescued as a “runt,” Archie was our first sheep resident. Shortly after we took Archie in, we had a very bad snow storm that resulted in a loss of power and some very cold weather. At this time, Archie was so small and had no one to snuggle with to keep warm, so he stayed in the house with the humans and indoor animals for a couple nights. During the day we would bring him outside, and he would trot along beside us as we cleaned up from the storm. Now that he is a cool kid teenager, he loves to hang out with his fellow pasture mates, The Fellowship. Archie let those few nights of staying in the house get to his head though, and now demands a bridge over the muddy spot in the pasture, to be right in front of the fan in the summer, a spot to lay directly next to the hay feeder (for eating while laying, obviously) and lots of snacks.
