We adopt barn kitties from Puppy Kitty NYC, as well as a few local rescues. Each kitty spends about 4 weeks in an acclimation crate as they get to know their new home and learn that they will receive food and water in this new location each day. This helps them with their adjustment as they learn this is a safe space. We have many barn cat bedrooms throughout our shelters and each has their own theme relevant to the kitties who call it home. Some themes include Under the Sea, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, and Garage Bands. We also renovated the second floor of our barn with help from Puppy Kitty NYC and Laurie (local cat rescuer). It is now a safe, warm, dry, and enriching 1500 square foot cat bedroom we call Uhtred’s Kitty Kingdom. Twenty adorable kitties call this space their home. Their names are Ace, Marty, Frankie, Youie, Finnegan, Huckleberry, Mango, Vic, Pawly Paws, Rosie, Gertrude, Rain, Zinnia, Indy, Rumble, Bee-Bee, Doc, Taylor, Popcorn, and Freida. It is so much fun getting to know their unique personalities and see their friendships blossom.
