Uhtred is the self appointed king of the herd, and our first rescued bovine. He came to us with his half-brother, Sihtric, from a backyard farm that got overpopulated due to a lack of neutering in the males. In the beginning, Uhtred was very timid and shy around us. When he was asleep from his neutering surgery, we gave him a slight haircut to trim his bangs so he could see better, and he became a whole new man! Ever since then, he has been a goofy, sweet, protective leader of the herd. He loves to run around and play with his friends, scratch himself on anything he can find, and fluff up the winter hay bales with his horns. Uhtred can tell when a storm is coming, due to the pressure change in the atmosphere, and he will moo incessantly at his herdmates and chase them until everyone is safely up at the barn and out of the inclement weather. What a thoughtful guy! We love our Uhtrie man and hope you enjoy some of our favorite photos of him over the last couple years.
